Privacy Policy

This notice explains how personal information is handled when you visit this website or contact National Marriage Week Ireland, including processing in North America.

Last updated: 6 November 2026.

Who we are

National Marriage Week Ireland ("we", "us", "our") is an initiative that supports and encourages married couples, and those preparing for marriage, across Ireland.

For privacy enquiries, contact info@nationalmarriageweek.ie. The full legal identity and contact address of the organisation responsible for personal information are being confirmed. This notice will be updated when those details are available.

What information we collect and why

Contact form

When you send us a message via the contact form on this site, we collect:

  • Your name and email address, so we can reply to you.
  • Your message and the subject you choose, so we can respond helpfully.

Lawful basis: Our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and organising the initiative's activities. Providing your details is voluntary, but we need an email address and a message to respond. Please do not send sensitive personal information or private details about another person through this form.

Newsletter sign-up

Newsletter sign-ups are currently paused. The website does not accept new subscriptions. Previously submitted email addresses were recorded in server logs rather than added to a mailing list. If you previously signed up and want to ask about or request deletion of your details, email info@nationalmarriageweek.ie.

Before sign-ups resume, this notice will explain the mailing-list service, consent records, retention arrangements and how to unsubscribe.

Technical information

Delivering pages and videos requires our hosting services to process technical information such as your IP address, browser information and requested pages or files. Technical logs may be used to keep the website available, investigate faults and prevent abuse. The contact form also uses temporary request information to limit repeated submissions.

Lawful basis: Our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website.

How we use and store your information

When email delivery is available, contact messages are sent to our email inbox. The website does not save contact messages in an application database. If delivery is unavailable, the form displays an error and asks you to email us directly.

Hosting, technical support and email service providers process information as needed to provide their services. Authorised people handling enquiries can access the messages sent to us. Following a partner link takes you to a separate website with its own privacy arrangements.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your information to build profiles or run automated decision-making.

The website uses HTTPS to protect information in transit between your browser and the site. Email is not a suitable way to send confidential relationship, health or financial information.

Where information is processed

This website and its media storage are hosted in North America, outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Visiting the site, playing videos or submitting a contact enquiry therefore involves processing by services outside the EEA. Email providers may process messages in other locations.

The specific processing countries, email provider and applicable international-transfer safeguards are being confirmed. Hosting outside the EEA requires an appropriate legal transfer arrangement, such as an applicable adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses with any necessary additional safeguards. This notice does not confirm that those arrangements have been verified.

You can ask about processing locations and request information about the applicable safeguards by emailing info@nationalmarriageweek.ie.

Cookies and tracking

The website's own code does not set advertising or analytics cookies, use browser storage to track visitors, or embed third-party video players. Videos are served through the site's own media service. Hosting services may still process technical request information as described above.

If optional cookies or tracking are introduced, visitors will be asked for consent before they are used and will be able to withdraw that consent.

The fonts used on this site are served directly from our own website, so no font requests or IP addresses are sent to third-party providers such as Google.

Your rights under GDPR

As an individual in Ireland or the EU, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erase your data (the "right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to how we process your data.
  • Receive and transfer data you have supplied, where the right to data portability applies.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

These rights apply subject to the conditions in data protection law. To make a request, email info@nationalmarriageweek.ie. We normally respond within one month. If a lawful extension is needed because of the complexity or number of requests, we will explain why within that first month. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity.

Data retention

Enquiry records should be retained only while needed to answer the enquiry, complete any agreed follow-up or meet an applicable legal obligation. Mailbox, backup and hosting-log retention periods are being confirmed with the people and providers responsible. No fixed deletion period has yet been verified.

Pausing newsletter sign-ups does not automatically delete addresses recorded in older logs. You can request information about or deletion of any earlier submission using the contact address above.

Changes to this policy

We will update this notice when our processing arrangements change or the outstanding details are confirmed. The date above shows when it was last revised.
